Established in 2009, the Downstream Drift is a full service fishing guide operation located in the heart of southeast Michigan.
Our sole mission is to bring the excitement and adventure of Fly Fishing to Southeast Michigan. Through education, conservation and trip personalization, we intend on providing anglers of all ages with superior recreational opportunities on southeast Michigan's finest waterways.

Welcome to The Downstream Drift.
My name is Jason Davis, and I am the founder, as well as the head guide of The Downstream Drift. Like many of you, my love for fishing began in a northern MI brook trout stream at the young age seven. Like most young anglers, I began as a spinning rod kid, but as the years passed, and my knowledge of the sport increased, looking for a new challenge I converted over to fly-fishing.
Over the years, my passion for the sport of fly fishing has taken me to nearly every waterway in the lower peninsula. I prefer to target trout, salmon and steelhead, but hooking the occasional bluegill can be just as fun and satisfying.
I have an extensive knowledge of aquatic insects, and am "Bug Certified" by the Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC). This knowledge not only greatly helps me, but the people I am educating as well, to identify the local aquatic insects that fish are feeding on.
I am the Vice President of Clinton Valley Trout Unlimited (CVTU) and have participated in many TU activities including stream restoration projects, promoting TU at local fly-fishing expos and giving presentations at monthly TU meetings.
